The Royal Marsden Hospital claimed that a man who released the sign of cancer from his golf bag as a brand is the first patient in the UK to have a robot microsurgery.

The 47 -year -old Nick Lees von Godalming, Surrey, finally looked for help after seeing news articles about the king’s cancer diagnosis.

He then discovered that he had a rare type of skin cancer, “the size of two 50 Pence pieces”, which doctors had to remove in order to remove urgently.

In order to support the reconstruction of the tissue and vessels that were damaged during the Krebs Removal procedure, the hospital used robot-assisted microsurgery.

“Surprised”

The robot can replicate the natural movements of the human hand in the microma rod.

Experts of the Royal Marsden Hospital in London welcomed the success of the operation and said how surprised they were that Mr. Lees could only return to work weeks later.

Mr. Lees said: “I had a brand that had been on my chest for a while. It didn’t cause me to feel discomfort, so I got used to it.

“To get his cancer treatments at the time when King Charles had a lot of reporting about it, so I thought: ‘Oh, ok, I’m better to go to the doctor.”

“So I went to the GP, she didn’t think it was anything, but said that I should check it out.

“I was pretty surprised when I was told by the dermatologist. That was the last thing I expected to say.”

The procedures took place in November 2024 and Mr. Lees has become clear since then

At Mr. Lees, Dermatofibrosarkom -Preluberan – a rare type of soft tissue arcom – was diagnosed in his breast.

Sarcoma is a kind of cancer that develops in the connective tissue of the body such as fat, muscles, nerves as well as blood and lymphatic vessels.

The procedures took place in November 2024 and it has been received in general since then.

The charity organization of Royal Marsden Cancer financed a robot-assisted microsurgery system in Great Britain, which is called Symani Surgical System.

The surgeon Aadil Khan said: “The Symani system is the first open robot system of open microsurgery that was developed worldwide and we are the first hospital in the UK that it has.

“What the Symani system is doing now is that it has robot arms that cover this connection of blood vessels.

“So the surgeon sits from a distance from the patient and looks in the same way as other robot operations, and I have controllers in my hand that enable me to control the robots’ arms.”
