Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell go shopping together in Aspen before Christmas

Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell do their Christmas shopping.

The longtime couple was photographed enjoying an outing together in Aspen, Colorado on Monday, December 23rd. Hawn, 79, wore an all-black outfit for the occasion, while Russell, 73, wore blue jeans with a brown coat and a white hat while carrying shopping bags.

Hawn and Russell have owned a home in Aspen for decades. They typically spend the holidays in Aspen every year with their children Oliver Hudson, Kate Hudson, Wyatt Russell, Boston Russell and their respective families. The couple’s children each have eight grandparents.

Hawn and Russell have enjoyed a strong relationship and a blended family for over 40 years, although they chose never to marry.

“You have to have good sex,” Hawn told E! News at MindUP’s Goldie Hawn Foundation charity event on September 27th when we were asked about building a successful long-term relationship.

Meanwhile, at the same event, Russell shared his belief that most long-term couples “have one thing in common”: “That is, after so many years together, you’ve experienced pretty much everything there is to experience together and understand everything.” the ups and downs and what that means,” he said. “I just love the fact that we met and still do. We still enjoy being together.”

In 2018, Russell opened up to PEOPLE about his family’s holiday traditions at the premiere of the first installment Christmas Chronicles Film. In addition to Russell and Hawn’s starring roles as Santa and Mrs. Claus, Oliver, 48, also appeared in the 2018 holiday-themed Netflix film.

“Christmas is very important in our family. It’s just something that we really care about,” Russell said at the time. “Santa Claus is the heart of Christmas. It’s the one time of year when we can all get together for a nice long time and enjoy all the things that every family has.”

“We have great joy, great tears, meltdowns, arguments, great laughter,” he added. “It’s a wonderful time, and we happen to be lucky that we’re in a great setting in Colorado, and it’s a beautiful place to be.”
