Google increased the price of the Pixel 9 Pro XL this year, but Amazon’s Black Friday deal just saved the day – saving you 0 instantly

Nobody likes price increases on their favorite devices, especially not when they happen one after the other. I wasn’t a fan of how Google increased the price of the Pixel 9 Pro XL to an even more expensive starting price of $1,099, which is $100 more than the price of the previous large-screen Pixel flagship. Black Friday deals make all the difference with this offer.

Luckily, Amazon saves the day, with the Pixel 9 Pro XL available for $849, a modest $250 discount for an unlocked model that doesn’t require any trade-ins or special offers to purchase. At this price, I find it suitable enough to recommend to anyone, and it’s also one of the best Black Friday phone deals you can find right now.

Why it’s a great offer

I’ve said it many times: I never buy my phones at full price – and neither should you. The 23% discount on the Pixel 9 Pro XL makes it significantly more attractive compared to direct competitors like the iPhone 16 Pro Max and the Galaxy S24 Ultra. In my review of the Pixel 9 Pro XL, I even point out that Google’s price hike negates the best part of buying a Pixel, but Amazon saves the day.

Secondly, no trade-ins are required to reduce the cost below normal cost. There’s also the fact that Amazon sells an unlocked model that allows you to connect it to any of your favorite wireless providers. Other phone plans lock you into long-term contracts that require you to maintain a specific plan for more than 36 months. Luckily, with this device you can go anywhere, anytime.

Finally, the Pixel 9 Pro XL is an outstanding flagship phone that ticks all my boxes. For example, it has the brightest screen I’ve ever tested in a phone – reaching an absurd 2,459 nits. It’s also the smartest AI phone on the market thanks to other Google AI features like Add Me, Pixel Studio, Pixel Screenshots, Reimagine, Gemini Live and more. I tested it even with the best phones and its triple cameras still prove to be excellent, especially when I took 200 photos with the iPhone 16 Pro Max and the Galaxy S24 Ultra. Most recently, I used it to capture galaxies, nebulae, and star clusters when I tried astrophotography with the Pixel 9 Pro XL.
