Republican Senator Tommy Tuberville was mocked for claiming that Donald Trump had “brought Christmas back to America”.

The Trump supporter posted the festive message on the social media platform X on Christmas Eve.

“Thanks to President Trump, Christmas is back in America,” Tuberville said. But the former football coach was largely mocked in the reactions.

“When idiots say stupid things,” replied Democratic Party strategist Chris D. Jackson.

“Someone was having eggnog,” someone scoffed.

“Christmas is about Christ, but somehow MAGA wants to focus on their God, Trump. Disgusting,” another person said.

“How did Christmas ever leave America and how did Trump bring it back?” someone else asked. “I am 76 and have celebrated Christmas every year of my life. Good. Bad ones and no one told me how to do it or if I could do it. Stop this rubbish,” replied another.

People were quick to confirm that they did indeed celebrate Christmas when Trump was not president.

“It never went away, idiot,” someone said.

“I had it last year and the year before that,” wrote another, while another person chimed in: “I remember having Christmas for the last four years… nothing has changed for my family and friends , Brother.”

However, other MAGA supporters agreed with the Alabama senator’s sentiments.

“We’re so back,” someone replied. “It makes me feel good to say this,” said another.

Tubverville is a staunch Trump supporter and has strongly supported the president-elect, particularly in his Cabinet decisions.

Earlier this month, he claimed that Republicans who are hesitant to confirm Pete Hegseth as defense secretary are “throwing stones at Trump.”

Amid concerns over Hegseth’s nomination, Tuberville said he believes it is up to Democrats to consider nominations and that members of his own party should be inclined to automatically confirm them.

“Who can say we can control and choose people better than Donald Trump?” Tuberville told CNN.

“Donald Trump has done all the vetting he needs on Pete Hegseth, and I just can’t believe we even have people on our side saying, ‘I have to look at this, I have to look at this,'” he added.
