Grace Hightower, ex-wife of Robert de Niro, sells Koop for $ 18 million

Grace Hightower, the ex-wife of Robert de Niro, moved on from the former couple’s house.

The actress and philanthropine, who married de Niro in 1997 and separated in front of the 2018 couple, sold the couple’s cooperative in Central Park West, according to public records for $ 18 million.

Hightower listed the apartment in the property known as a Brentford for $ 20 million in May, somewhat below the $ 20.9 million they had paid and de Niro in 2006. Compass’ Leonard Steinberg, who had the listing, told Wall Street Journal at the time that “Co-OPS was quite defeated at the price”.

Hightower and de Niro carried out extensive renovation work on the 5,700 square meters of duplex after a fire had left out in 2012 for about a year. According to the journal, the couple rented Perry Street in the West Village and later 15 Central Park West.

The Eck primary bedroom has three windows with a view of the park and three connected clothes rooms. Four more bedrooms all run on the northwestern wing of the upper level, while the lower level holds the living room, the dining room and the kitchen.

The previous owner of Hightower and de Niro’s apartment was the shameful film producer Harvey Weinstein.

In the 28-unit cooperative in 88 Central Park West there were a number of famous names, including Sting and photographer Annie Liebovitz, who sold her house last February for $ 10.7 million. Liebovitz also exchanged her cooperative, which she bought in 2014, for a small loss.

Last year, the middle sales price for cooperatives with at least four bedrooms was $ 4.9 million. This year the average price is 3.5 million US dollars.

Hightower and de Niro’s divorce process made headlines through a large part of Covid, with a large part of the duo’s personal life exposed. De Niro said in July 2020, Nobu Hospitality, the high-end fusion chain, which he co-founded, fought to make money.

Since then, the actor has concentrated on his billion dollar film studio Wildflower Studios in Astoria, Queens. The construction of the 765,000 square meter complex last year.
