The men’s games will take place in the Gateway Center in College Park, Georgia. The winners will switch to the championship round on March 15.

For the first time in five seasons, the No. 4 Seed Texas Southern Tigers will not compete in the Swac men’s tournament championship game. No. 5 The state of Alabama defeated the Texas Southern No. 4, 84-79, at the Star Basketball tournament 2025 in the Gateway Center in College Park, Georgia.

D’Ange Bass scored 16 points with two important slam dunks and less than minutes to achieve the state of No. 5. Three other hornets were in double -digit figures against TSU: Antonio “TJ” Madlock (15 points, eight rebounds), CJ Hines (15 points, two rebounds) and Micah Simpson (10 points, three rebounds).

The State of Alabama commanded a lead of 41-29 against Texas Southern in half-time. The Hornets were never left behind and allowed a tie with 59 in the second half. Compared to TSU, the ASU went 14: 29 from the three -point range and reached 10 out of 22.

Zaire Hayes led the quarter -finals with 24 points for the tigers. He burned the entire game on fire and scored 8-of-9 goal with 6-to-7 from beyond the arch. His backcourt teammate Kavion McClain went from the ground with 6 out of 11 for 15 points. Jaylen Wysinger was efficient, scored 14 points and won two rebounds.

No. 8 Grambling State will meet in the semi -final game on Friday at 2:00 p.m. CT No. 4 in Alabama State. Jackson State will appear against the winner of the Bethune Cookman Alcorn State-Match.

The Jackson State Tigers continue to rise at the right time by presenting their conference dominance with a 91-76 victory over the Florida A&M Rattlers. The victory of the JSU and the surprise of the southern Jaguars have set up the Tiger as favorites at the basketball tournament 2025 in the Gateway Center Arena in College Park in Georgia.

Mo Williams had the No. 2 Seed Tigers (14-17, 14-4 Swac), which controlled the pace of the game directly from the opening tip. The Rattlers No. 7 (14-16, 10-8 Swac) were ultimately exceeded by 15 points, which ended Jackson State during the regular season near the top of the conference evaluation.

In contrast, Florida A&M fought against the aggressive defense of the state of Jackson and managed to shoot only 41.0% from the field, far below their usual offensive standards.

Roderick Coffee III was the outstanding player who led all the scorers with 30 points as well as four rebounds, five templates and two steals for the Rattlers. Jordan Chatman and Milton Matthews each contributed 18 points to the loss.

This quarter-finale matchup followed a big surprise earlier a day when Grambling State No. 8 defeated number 1 from Southern University 65-62 with 65-62 in extra time.

Southern’s excretion has an important opportunity in the tournament clip for Jackson State, Bethune-Cookman, Texas Southern and last year’s master Grambling.

During Jackson State in the semi-finals, she comes against the winner of the sixth game between Bethune-Cookman No. 3 and No. 6 Alcorn State.

The semi -finals are planned for March 14th at 8:30 p.m. ET and is broadcast on ESPN+.

The basketball tournament 2025 Swac men presented by Buick offers the ten best teams in the conference and runs from March 11th to 15th. The men’s championship game is on March 15th at 9:30 p.m. ET for March 15 and is broadcast on ESPNU.

As most Swac tournaments, nothing is more predictable than the unpredictable. Jackson State has a clearer way to the championship game and receives the automatic offer of the conference for the NCAA basketball tournament 2025.
