Green Bay Packers’ Jordan Love’s Toyotathon contribution before the Saints game

And Jordan Love when it’s Toyotathon?

According to a previous Journal Sentinel report, some of the more hilarious circles of the Packers’ online discourse have highlighted the long-running car sales season as the Green Bay quarterback’s time to shine.

And now the quarterback himself is commenting on this tradition.

Love posted a photo of himself on Instagram on Monday showing off a red “Merry Toyotathon Christmas” crew-neck shirt while standing in front of a silver Toyota.

“Toyotathon is on, cheeseheads,” Love captioned the post with the hashtags “#ToyotaPartner” and “#CarspiracyTheory.”

It’s also worth noting that Love is a spokesman for Neenah-based Bergstrom Automotive, which has a Toyota dealership in Oshkosh.

The idea started with a TikTok video produced by the account @kicks, which stated that Love’s stellar second half of 2023 was sparked by the sales period from November 15th to January 3rd.

It started on November 19th last year against the Los Angeles Chargers, when Love rushed for a season-high 322 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions. That began a stretch in which the Packers won six of their last eight games – although arguably Love’s best game came a few days after the Toyotathon ended.

This year, the Toyotathon, which ran from Nov. 15 to Jan. 6, struck again, turning things around for Love. Since the start of the sales period, the Packers have won four of their last five games. Love has also thrown just one interception during that time – 11 this season – with a passer rating of 119.95.
