Haines City Police are investigating a suspected murder and suicide

The Haines City Police Department is investigating an overnight murder-suicide that left two people dead. According to police, officers responded to the Hammock Reserve subdivision in Haines City at approximately 9:51 p.m. Saturday after receiving a 911 call from a family member that their brother was making suicidal statements. When officers arrived, they heard a single gunshot coming from the home. Inside the residence, police found a deceased man and woman on the second floor, both with apparent gunshot wounds. Police did not identify the couple but said they were in a relationship. No other injuries were reported and the investigation is ongoing.
