Hallmark’s expanded Christmas film edit

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – Chiefs Kingdom will receive more cheer in the spotlight just in time for Christmas.

Hallmark announced it will release an extended segment of “Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story,” which was filmed in Kansas City and Independence.

If you missed the debut, here’s a sneak peek at what you can expect in the extended cut version.

Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story, premiering on the Hallmark Channel November 30.

According to TV Ratings Guide, more than 2.8 million people watched the Chiefs Christmas movie when it premiered on the Hallmark Channel last month. Hallmark said it was the network’s most-watched film of 2024.

The extended cut version will premiere on December 20th at 7pm CT.

According to TV Ratings Guide, the Chiefs’ Christmas movie debut on Nov. 30 drew more viewers than NCAA football games airing at the same time.

Here’s how the viewership numbers compared:

  • Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story
  • Oregon vs. Washington
  • LSU vs. Oklahoma
  • Kansas State vs. Iowa State
  • Florida vs. Florida State

The Chiefs will also be at many family gatherings next week.

Andy Reid, Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, Chris Jones and more will star in a Christmas claymation short film. The 90-second “A Kingdom Christmas Story: Hail Merry” will be released on the Chiefs’ YouTube channel on Christmas Eve at 6:00 p.m. CT.

The Chiefs travel to Pittsburgh on Christmas Day to take on the Steelers. The game will be broadcast on KCTV5 and streamed on Netflix.
