HALSEY loves hardcore, once booking THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA & AUGUST BURNS RED for a show in New Jersey

Halsey has made little secret of her love for rock and metal over the years. She worked with Nine inch nails And bring me The Horizon When she hears new music, she’s dressed as Marilyn Manson for Halloween, but her love of all things heavy obviously goes back even further.

In a recent post on TikTok: In dissonance drummer Christian Leyva managed to ask Halsey about her past with hardcore. Halsey noted that she had actually booked a series of hardcore shows in New Jersey at the time, culminating in one show August Burns Ed And The devil wears Prada.

“I mean, I’m really into hardcore music,” he said Halsey in the clip. “Before I started making music I was promoting hardcore shows in Jersey. I did a lot of hardcore, but then I also liked some of the more commercial hardcore shows. The biggest show I’ve ever booked was when I was about 16 – the biggest show I’ve ever booked August Burns Ed And The devil wears Prada. As I said, a little more commercial. My quote from the senior yearbook was a Defeater lyrical. So you guessed right, I was a hardcore kid for sure.

Halsey also commented on the video, clearly pretty excited that she got to chat a little about hardcore: “That was a really cool moment in my day that day 🙂 Thank you so much.”
