Hanging from Elena Rybakina’s ex-coach “remains”, says WTA

The suspension of Elena Rybakina’s former coach Stefano Vukov “remains”, said the WTA tour on Tuesday after she had confirmed that she had completed her investigation into a potential violation of her code of conduct.

The governmental authority did not state how long Vukov, which was originally temporarily exposed, would remain prohibited. The Croatian coach has denied misconduct.

Rybakina, the Wimbledon Champion 2022, said last month at the Australian Open that Vukov worked me together over her years and that she disagreed with the preliminary suspension.

“I am only disappointed with the situation and how the process was going. I won’t comment much more,” Rybakina told reporters on Wednesday after winning Rebecca Sramkova at the Qatar Open.

In its explanation, the WTA said that it would not provide any further details to “protect the confidentiality and integrity of the examination and its results”.

Rybakina’s coaching situation in the past few months has been in the seventh Rybakina.

Shortly before the US Open last year, she announced that she had no longer worked with Vukov, and said before this season that her new coach in 2001 would be Wimbledon Champion Goran Ivanisevic.

But Rybakina said before the Australian Open Open opened, Vukov would come back to her team. At this point, the WTA found that Vukov was temporarily suspended and was not entitled to receive a WTA registration information, which prevented him from only going to player areas in tournaments such as practice courts or training areas.

After Rybakina lost in the fourth round in Melbourne Park, Ivanisevic announced that he would no longer train her.
