Heavy Lake Effect Snow to influence parts from Cny until Valentine’s Day

After reaching 44 degrees on Thursday, cold winds bring colder temperatures, wind cold and lake effect for our area until Friday.

If you look at all the latest information in the weather center of the CnyCentral Weather Authority Authority, it very likely sees that parts of the immediate CNY area will receive serious battles from See Effect in addition to gusty winds.

As always, the snow effects are difficult, and this is no exception. By Friday evening there will be a big difference in the total amounts of snow. The placement and the exact intensity of the lake effect are monitored to determine whether we have to increase or reduce the quantities and whether the snow bands move further north or south.

In this sense, my updated snow forecast for this special event is:

Make sure you will be in Central New York on Friday at 4:00 a.m. to see exactly where the lake effect has set up and where it is going next!

Since the lake effect -snow snow probably in Syracus, I thought it would be interesting to look at Valentine’s Days in the past.

Here are the warmest, coldest, moistest and snow -covered ones that are recorded for Syracuse,:

Here are the past 6 Valentine’s Day days and the top 6 snow -capped Valentine’s Day days:

Depending on the exact placement of the Effect Snow lake, Valentine’s Day 2025 could be one of the top 6 that are set to record!

As soon as the snow effect is moving north and ends on Friday evening, Central New York will be wintry.

Here are our next weathermaker:

As mentioned above, two new widespread systems will come through our region this weekend.

The first develops on Saturday until noon on Saturday with a light snow and is occasionally moderate in the afternoon.

It seems that a large part of Central New York will probably see 2 to 4 inch snow until Saturday evening.

A large and stronger system will then move over our area for later Saturday evening to Sunday. There is still great uncertainty as to whether this is an “All Snow” event, a snow-mix-rain-back-back-to-snow event for Saturday evening until Sunday. Be excited about updates.

In addition, a polar immersion of colder wind calves, temperatures and lake effect -will return on Sunday evening next Monday!
