Henry Winkler reveals connection to Timothée Chalamet

Henry Winkler has revealed how he influenced young Timothée Chalamet long before the actor made it big in Hollywood.

The Happy days The star shared the funny anecdote during a quick Q&A segment on Kelly Ripa Let’s talk off camera Podcast. During their conversation, the two also discussed Winkler’s first kiss with Robert De Niro and Ripa, who was too impressed to talk to Harrison Ford.

Winkler recounted his first kiss in fourth grade while attending PS 87 public school in New York City. Ripa revealed that her children also attended the school as Winkler recalled a “great story” about it Call me by your name Actor.

“Oh my God, that’s a great story,” Winkler began. “So I’m at an awards show and there’s Timothée Chalamet, and I went up to him and said, ‘I just have to tell you, I think you’re really wonderful, and I’m so happy to be able to tell you that.’ personal’.”

Chalamet then responded, telling Winkler, “When I was in fourth grade, you came to PS 87 where you held a meeting and read.” Hank Zipzer. I was in the audience.

The Hank Zipzer The book series was written by Winkler and Lin Oliver and follows the life of the eponymous dyslexic and how he copes with life with the disorder.

The book series was inspired by Winkler’s own story with dyslexia.

“My stepson, who is now 53, was in third grade,” Winkler said of his diagnosis in an interview with Q’s Tom Power in November. “We had him tested and everything they said about him was true for me. I realized I wasn’t stupid – I had something with a name. I had different wiring in my brain.”

“As soon as I found out (I had dyslexia), my entire thought pattern about education and children changed in a second,” he added. “It was definitely a relief. But I’m telling you, the component of all the self-doubt and lack of self-esteem is taking its toll… I had to rebuild myself to get into the sun.”

Winkler is a Hollywood legend who rose to fame for his role as Fonzie in the sitcom Happy days. His long list of credits include: Parks and Recreation and Wes Anderson’s The French dispatch, in which Chalamet also plays the main role.

The younger actor was nominated for an Oscar for his role in The Movie Call me by your name and has also starred in titles like that dune films, Little women and as chocolatier Willy Wonka in the 2023 film Wonka.
