Here are the “Cyberpunk 2077” skins for “Fortnite”

Fortnite is home to a million crossovers, most recently Mariah Carey. But now the game is entering territory I know very well and releasing skins for my favorite game of all time, Cyberpunk 2077. Do you think I’m crazy for saying that? Now play it in its “final form”. You will get it.

We now know who and what is coming to Fortnite from Cyberpunk 2077, and while I think there should have been double the number of skins, I’m not surprised at who was chosen. Here’s what we know, and this stuff will hit stores via Dataminer on Monday, December 23rd:

  • V Skin (1,500 V Bucks)
  • Johnny Silverhand skin (1,500 V-Bucks)
  • Johnny’s Katana (800 V-Bucks), Wrap (500) and Emote
  • V’s Mantis Blades (800 V-Bucks), Quadra Vehicle (1,800 V-Bucks)

There are a few things to consider here. First, we don’t know whether this V will be of one gender or perhaps both. However, Fortnite just posted an official teaser for the collaboration, which only features female V. I would argue that she is the better choice in the game itself, but as is the nature of games, she had a much lower pick percentage than male V. It seems like the obvious option here to have both, but it There’s no word on it, or whether it might be “buy one, get one” as an alternative style. Fortnite hasn’t really delved much into the “created character” theme from video game crossovers. Regardless, they certainly look like the standard versions the game was advertised with.

It’s no surprise that Johnny emerges as a second skin. This will be the second skin to feature Keanu Reeves’ likeness in the game, the first being John Wick (and before that, Fortnite had its own bootleg John Wick). This is another thing that doesn’t happen often, and the only example I can think of of a double Zendaya feature for Chani from Dune and Mary Jane from Spider-Man.

Finally Mantis Blades as a mining tool? Oh, absolutely yes. This will immediately be one of the coolest tools in the game, right up there with Wolverine claws I would argue. I suspect these aren’t exclusive to V, but I’m wondering if they’ll have some kind of special “pop-out” animation or something. Probably not, but very cool either way.

Sometimes Epic returns to release more skins during major crossovers, and I would fight for Judy and Panam skins to join these two other most iconic characters in this game. But unfortunately we only have the clues at the moment.

I’m sure the visuals of the skins will leak soon and I’ll be picking these up immediately. However, I don’t think Johnny would appreciate it being sold as a microtransaction in Fortnite. V wouldn’t care as long as she got paid.
