Here. Forever… Winfield family struggles after a car accident

Here. Forever.

WINFIELD – By the Daily Item: For some people, their wish lists aren’t long this holiday season.

“We’re more excited about spending time together than receiving something,” Anna said.

The family lost a son in a car accident last October and another in the months since. Anna herself was injured in a car accident when a driver crossed the yellow line and hit her vehicle. Since then, she has been unemployed or has limited working hours while her husband works full time.

“I work about 20 hours a week and my husband works full time, but I still have shoulder pain from my accident,” said the 36-year-old.

Anna’s brother lives with her, her husband and their three children, ages 2, 9 and 17, but is currently in the hospital. Taking care of him is another reason she has limited work hours.

“When my brother comes home, he needs someone to take care of him,” she said.

This isn’t the first time she’s used the Salvation Army’s program. She said the campaign was really needed last year after her car accident.

“(Here. For Good.) helps at least a little and any help is welcome,” she said.

This here. Forever. The campaign is a continuation of the Needy Family Fund, which has raised more than $3.4 million during the holiday season since 1987 to help Valley families.

This year’s goal is $175,000. The campaign is managed by The Salvation Army Citadels in Milton and Sunbury and is supported by The Daily Item, Sunbury Broadcasting Corp. and Mifflinburg Bank & Trust sponsored.

Donors can write checks here. Forever. Make a campaign and mail it or drop it off at any program co-sponsor Mifflinburg Bank & Trust location. Donors can also mail a check to 250 E. Chestnut St., Mifflinburg, PA 17844 or donate online at www.hereforgoodcampaign.org.
