The moment music lovers have been waiting for is finally here: Spotify Wrapped for 2024.

“Wrapped is in the app,” Spotify said on a website dedicated to its annual, personalized summary of users’ listening habits. “Your year in audio awaits. Visit the mobile app to join the celebration.”

Last month, Spotify urged users to download the latest version of the app in preparation for the release of Wrapped, which typically occurs between November 30th and December 6th.

Many on social media predicted that “Wrapped” would be released in 2024 on December 4th, based on previous release dates.

As of Wednesday morning, it was like this: Users could scan a QR code to find their summary or find it through a tab in the Spotify app. Spotify had also changed its wallpaper on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, to mark the release.

What is Spotify Wrapped?

The music streaming service has been providing its listeners with a breakdown of their data since 2016. And every year it becomes a major production – and an internet sensation. Spotify said its 2023 Wrapped is the “largest ever created” in terms of audience reach and the type of data provided.

The campaign has become a social media sensation as people share and compare their Wrapped data online with their friends and followers.

Previous iterations have given users all sorts of breakdowns and facts, including whether they’re among an artist’s top listeners, as well as a personalized playlist of their top 100 songs of the year that they can save, share and listen to whenever whatever you want nostalgic.

Every year has something new in store. In 2019, Wrapped included a summary of user streaming trends for the entire decade. Last year, Spotify assigned listeners a Sound Town based on their artist affinities and how they matched those in other parts of the world.

Where can I find my Spotify Wrapped?

When Wrapped is released, each user will be prompted via their Spotify account to view its interactive data summary. Access is via the Spotify smartphone app or by logging into the Spotify website. Wrapped is available for users with and without premium subscriptions.

What else can I learn with my Spotify data?

There are a handful of third-party websites you can connect your Spotify account to that will analyze your Wrapped data.

How Bad is Your Spotify is an AI bot that assesses your music taste. Receiptify shows you your top songs on a shareable graphic that looks like a receipt. Instafest offers you your personal music festival lineup based on your top artists. How NPRCore Are You assesses how similar your taste in music is to NPR Music.

What if I don’t have Spotify?

Other major streaming platforms like Apple Music and YouTube Music have developed their own versions of Wrapped in recent years.

Apple Music’s Replay offers subscribers not only an overview of their year-end listening habits, but also monthly summaries – a feature that helps differentiate it from Spotify’s one-off summary. This will be published at the end of the calendar year.

YouTube Music, meanwhile, offers listeners a similar year-end release as well as regular seasonal releases throughout the year. The annual summary for users was released earlier this month.
