‘High probability of foul play’ in case of Warren’s missing mother

Warren and Roseville police are investigating the disappearance of a Warren mother who was last seen on Jan. 2. Her car was found in Roseville, where police said they took a dumpster and other evidence from an apartment complex where her ex-boyfriend lives.

Police concluded Tuesday that there was “a strong possibility of foul play” in this incident, which likely occurred in Roseville at the Hampton Court Apartments, where missing mother Ashley Elkins may have been, according to a joint release from the two authorities on Wednesday.

On Wednesday evening, Roseville Police Lt. Scott Burley said there would be an arraignment in connection with the case Thursday morning in 39th District Court in Roseville, but he gave no further information about the individual or the charges.

A search warrant was executed at the apartments, with police saying key evidence, including forensics, was recovered and is being analyzed by the Michigan State Police.

Elkins’ car, a silver Chevrolet Malibu, was recovered in the area of ​​13 Mile and Little Mack in Roseville, about 4 miles from the Pinehurst apartment complex, where police said the dumpster was seized for investigation and evidence.
