Highs in the 70s with just a few isolated showers

Christmas forecast: Highs in the 70s with just a few isolated showers

Skies will remain mostly cloudy on SWFL Christmas Day.

FEEL COMFORTABLE. BUT I HAVE A FEELING THAT YOU PROBABLY SHOULD HAVE. It is like that and I always love going there, especially during the holidays because it is just perfect. I would love to see it in person one day. YES. YES. I think it’s great how we all got the red memo data unplanned. By the way, you know it chose green. INSTEAD IT’S STILL IN RED TODAY. Overall, we see a really nice Christmas forecast. It will still be a bit cloudy at times. >> BUT START WITH LIVE DOPPLER RADAR ERROR, SURE. And we only expect a slight chance of rain today. So if you have friends or family in town, you might be hoping to spend a little part of this Christmas outside. Maybe in true Florida fashion to hit the beach later. We’re just looking at scattered showers. But the bigger picture over the next few days, as you may still be hosting people through the end of the week, this Gulf Disturbance, which is just causing disorganized showers, will continue to impact our region. And that will significantly increase our chance of rain through the weekend. So this Christmas Day you can expect the clouds to really hang around in the meantime. WE ARE NOT SUPER STABLE RIGHT NOW. SOMETHING UNSTABLE, THE ATMOSPHERE. So it stays cloudy. BUT IT’S EVEN 1:00 PM HERE. Maybe you’re opening presents. IT WILL CERTAINLY STILL be quite cloudy WITHOUT A FEW MOMENTS OF SUNSHINE. BUT THEN A FEW SPOTTY SHOWERS AROUND 4:00 PM. So if you’re going to Christmas dinner, you might want to have the umbrella handy. BUT MOST WILL NOT NEED IT TONIGHT. A CHRISTMAS REALLY STILL A REALLY BEAUTIFUL TREND. Just a few scattered patchy rains and then it continued overnight, staying mostly dry. BUT THE CLOUDS WILL STAY EVEN AS THE CHANCE OF RAIN STARTS TO INCREASE FOR US. And I don’t expect there to be a significant outage in a single day. In fact, the potential for precipitation over the next seven days will be less than half an inch in most locations. TEMPERATURES THIS MORNING. IT FEELS COOL. Well, CHRIS, I’ll get you in the Christmas spirit. Temperatures are in the mid-fifties. 57 DEGREES FOR GORDA. 58 DEGREES OUT THE DOOR IN BONITA SPRINGS AND LOW 60S TO THE SOUTH. So overall we’re seeing pretty seasonal temperatures today and that means upper 70s, some nice temperatures into the afternoon. Maybe you can eat at LANAI. It will be a nice afternoon. And then through this evening temperatures will be a little warmer but still fall into the upper 50s. THE FURTHER NORTH IT GOES FURTHER SOUTH. So the south wind has returned. THIS WILL REALLY INCREASE OUR HUMIDITY IN THE FUTURE. IF YOU’RE ALREADY THINKING ABOUT NEW YEAR’S EVE, IT WILL BE NICE. EVEN BETTER THAN THE CONDITIONS WE SEE TONIGHT. As you look ahead to next week, maybe go to dinner on New Year’s Eve, upper 60s, mid 60s, maybe go to one of our downtowns because the countdown is on on the Gulf Coast. LOW 60’S RIGHT AT MIDNIGHT. Even though the chance of rain increases heading into the weekend, a cold front will arrive early next week. THE LAST DAYS OF THE YEAR WILL GET US AWAY JUST IN TIME FOR EVERYTHING. YOU HAVE PLANS FOR NEW YEAR’S EVE. TEMPERATURES WILL FLAW COMPLETELY IN THIS LAST WEEK OF 2024; TOMORROW WE WILL BE IN THE HIGH 70S TO LOWER 80S. Pretty close to lowland seasonality
