History: Dutch speed skater Joy Beune posed for Playboy and was the first person to have the magazine reprinted because so many copies were sold

(source) – In her native Holland, the latest Dutch edition of Playboy has already had to be reprinted, even though it only went on sale last Thursday.

Editor-in-chief Niek Stolker admitted that this situation had “never happened before”.

He told the Dutch portal Ad: “In the eleven years that Pijper Media has been publishing our magazine, nothing like this has ever happened.”

Check out Holland/Netherlands/The Dutch! They love speed skating and Playboy. I have to give Joe Beune credit, this is one of the more impressive performances out there. I can’t say I’m up to date with my Dutch Playboy issues, but being the first person to sell so many copies that they have to reprint the magazine within a week deserves a round of applause. However, I need more numbers. How many copies were actually sold before someone said, “We need to restock”? In the age of the internet and the fact that everything is free, you have to leave it to someone who can move the needle like that. I guess they just love their speed skating in Holland?

This story also took me back in time. Anyone of a certain age can remember sneaking into closets to watch Playboys. We remember how viruses were installed on the family computer. I wonder what would have sold out Playboy back then? The Sable problem immediately comes to mind. This is the moment I remember most when I close my eyes.

But either way: Joy Beune will be sold out in the Netherlands in 2024. The Olympic medal must come soon for her. Good juju through the roof.
