Honda is recalling 206K SUVs due to poor fuel line installation that can lead to fuel leaks

A problem with the fuel line assembly has led Honda to recall an estimated 206,000 SUVs because the problem is linked to an increased risk of fire. Honda announced the recall on Thursday and said it would contact affected owners by letter starting next month.

The recall is expected to impact certain 2023-24 Honda Passport and 2023-25 Honda Pilot SUVs.

Honda initiated the recall after discovering that some vehicles have an “incomplete connection between the fuel filler neck tube and the fuel filler tube,” which can cause the two parts to separate in an accident. Should this happen, fuel leakage may occur, resulting in an increased risk of fire or injury.

To fix the problem, dealers will conduct a free inspection of the vehicle and properly connect the parts if necessary. So far, Honda is not aware of any injuries as a result of the problem.

Owners concerned about whether their vehicle is part of the recall can also visit the Honda recall website and enter their vehicle identification number.
