Horrifying video shows the moment a feather-clad showgirl was stabbed to death by a madman on the Las Vegas Strip

A horrifying video has emerged showing the moment a Las Vegas showgirl was stabbed to death in her red feather costume in a mass street stabbing.

Maris Mareen DiGiovanni, 30, was killed along with Brent Hallett, 47, in the October 2022 shooting.

Prosecutors say Yoni Barrios, 34, was responsible for the murder and injured six other people, including many showgirls.

Barrios, 34, was indicted on terrorism and murder charges, among other charges, after the harrowing footage was shown to a grand jury, 8 News Now reports.

The video shows the suspect sprinting down the Las Vegas Strip with a large kitchen knife in his hand.

As he approaches DiGiovanni, he plunges the gun into her, causing her to fall to the ground.

He then runs down Las Vegas Boulevard and stabs another man in the back.

He continues running and stabs a third man, who is thrown from the wall he is sitting on.

A later clip shows him being tackled to the ground by police at the Sands Expo.

Horrifying photos taken after the attack show DiGiovanni’s red feather headdress lying on the blood-spattered floor.

Police said the attack began after Barrios approached a group of showgirls and asked them to take a photo.

He reportedly told them he was a chef and wanted to take a photo with the knife.

However, according to Clark County Assistant District Attorney John Giordani, they believed they were making fun of his clothing and appearance and began stabbing “at random.”

According to boss Cheryl Lowthorp, DiGiovanni was part of the modeling and talent agency Best Showgirls In Vegas. She was also a school teacher.

Lowthorp said two other agency employees were among the wounded and a third escaped unhurt.

Barrios reportedly went to the Wynn Casino before the shooting and asked a janitor about jobs and also looked for a job as a cook.

Barrios also told a casino security guard that he tried to sell his knives, which he had stored in a suitcase, to raise enough money to return home, although police said his citizenship was unclear.

Court documents obtained exclusively by DailyMail.com show that Barrios was charged with criminal domestic violence in 2019 by Los Angeles District Attorney Jackie Lacey, who has since resigned.

Had he been convicted, Barrios likely would have been imprisoned and deported.

Lacey failed to bring the case to trial in a timely manner, and after 90 days had passed, the judge was forced to dismiss the case under California’s expedited trial laws, according to court records.

Barrios was also prosecuted in 2016 for dangerous driving and driving without a license in Riverside, California.

After his arrest Thursday, Barrios told investigators he was from Guatemala and wanted ICE to take him home, according to a Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department report.
