How much is Tony Vitello’s bonus after the Tennessee Baseball College World Series championship?

OMAHA, Neb. – Tony Vitello received a $140,000 bonus for leading Tennessee baseball to the program’s first national championship.

Vitello’s contract calls for him to receive 40% of his base salary as a bonus for winning the College World Series. The seventh-year coach has a base salary of $350,000, which makes up part of his $1.5 million annual salary.

He earned the bonus after the Vols won the program’s first national title with a 6-5 win over Texas A&M at Charles Schwab Field on Monday.

The contract provides Vitello with a bonus per year based on the team’s highest performance, namely winning the CWS. He received no bonus for winning the SEC regular season title or the SEC tournament title.

UT must pay out the bonus to Vitello within 60 days.

What is Tony Vitello’s salary and contract?

Vitello agreed to a contract extension and raise in June 2021 that will pay him $1.5 million annually before incentives through June 2026. The contract is worth $7.5 million over five years.

Vitello, 45, received an extension and raise after the 2019 season worth an average of $621,000 per season. That deal was worth $3.105 million before incentives and was scheduled to run through the 2024 season.

His original contract was a five-year contract with an average annual salary of $493,000.
