How much snow was there in northern New York this weekend?

WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WWTI) – The lake effect snow has eased a bit and residents across New York State are digging out.

The main question now is how much snow there was in areas in New York.

Areas around Lake Ontario and Lake Erie were hit by the season’s first real snowfall. Some places had a lot more snow than others.

According to the National Weather Service, the big “winner” in the state was a weather station southwest of Copenhagen in Lewis County. 65.9 inches of snow fell at this location.

The runner-up was Barnes Corners in Jefferson County, which received 65.5 inches of snow, while Fort Drum received 63 inches.

The NWS said the totals have been updated based on additional reports we have received. A distance of a few miles can make a difference in a post since the NWS reports the total numbers.
