Historic Snowfall Perspective for Rochester

The 1.8 inches that fell in Rochester on December 2 (the 24-hour count begins and ends at 7 a.m., not midnight) was the first measurable snow of the year for the city. The last measurable snow for Rochester was December 10, 1948.

In a normal season, which runs from July 1 to June 30, Rochester typically receives 9.3 inches of snow through December 2.

The record for the least amount of snow at this location, unsurprisingly, dates back to 1948, when only a trace was recorded at that time.
