How much will it cost to see Arizona State play in the Big 12 Championship?

PHOENIX (AZFamily) —If you’re planning on traveling to watch the Sun Devils in the Big 12 Championship game, the clock is ticking. The game takes place this Saturday and will be played at AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys. And depending on how much money you want to spend to get there, you have a few options.

Firstly, can you afford the football tickets? The stadium holds 80,000 people and SeatGeek is the official ticket provider. On Your Side found plenty of seats high up in the stadium, commonly referred to as “nosebleed” areas, and they cost $86 and up. The very best seats were still under $400. And remember, student tickets are available at the ASU ticket office.

So how do you get there? You can do it by car, but the drive from Phoenix to Dallas takes about 15 hours. And depending on what you drive, On Your Side calculates that the round trip will cost an average of around $160 in gas alone.

Would you rather fly? Well, airline tickets for the Dallas-Fort Worth area are selling out fast. If you want to leave on Friday and fly back on Sunday, On Your Side found that the cheapest options cost more than $750 for a seat, and that’s not even a direct flight. They’re almost sold out.

If you are there you will probably need accommodation. On Your Side found several options within a 10-minute drive of the stadium for less than $200 per night.

So if you and a friend travel by car, expect to pay at least $800 total for two tickets, gas and a hotel room, plus money for food.

The total cost of flying for two people to the game is more like $2,200, not including food or rideshare costs.
