How much will Oregon head coach Dan Lanning make in 2024?

In his third season with the Oregon Ducks (and their first season in the Big Ten), Dan Lanning has his Oregon football team competing at national title level. The Ducks want to compete for a national championship this season and will likely continue to do so for the foreseeable future.

In many ways, it really feels like Lanning has taken the Ducks from a nationally relevant program to one that’s on the verge of being in, through the way he recruited in Eugene and assembled his team’s roster to be able to compete for championships in the foreseeable future.

As Oregon’s head coach, Lanning managed to win 33 games in just three seasons (and his third season isn’t over yet). For a program with a lot of money involved, it would make a lot of sense to pay this caliber of coach at a very high level.

And if you think Lanning is getting paid a lot of money (and is probably still underpaid based on market value), then you might be right.

Lanning is one of the highest paid coaches in the country. He is the third-highest paid coach in the Big Ten. Oregon is committed to ensuring that he is well compensated for his success and work in Eugene.

At $8.2 million, Lanning is clearly making a lot of money. When compared to his contemporaries in the Big Ten with publicly disclosed salaries, Lanning trails only USC Trojans head coach Lincoln Riley and Ohio State Buckeyes head coach Ryan Day.

Oregon is clearly committed to winning at a high level and is paying its head coach a lot of money. If he continues to win at the level he is currently at, you can expect this amount of money to continue to rise.
