Prime Minister Narendra Modi hit Pakistan on Sunday with Lex Fridman in a podcast with Lex Fridman and said that every attempt to promote peace was encountered with hostility and betrayal.

He remembered that he had invited his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif to swear in the ceremony in 2014, hoping that they could make a new beginning for the India-Pakistani relationship.

“But every noble attempt to promote peace was encountered with hostility and betrayal. We sincerely hope that wisdom prevails and you choose the way of peace,” he said.

PM Modi said he believes that even people in Pakistan long for peace because they are fed up with living in arguments, unrest and relentless terror.

He spoke about his initiatives to improve relationships with Pakistan in his first term and said that he did not achieve the desired results.

“It was a diplomatic gesture that was in any case in any decades.

“This was proof of how clear and self -confident the foreign policy of India had become. This sent the world a clear message about the commitment of India’s peace and harmony, but we did not achieve the desired result,” he added.

PM Modi asked about Donald Trump’s leadership and said that he appreciates the “unshakable” commitment of the US President of America. PM Modi referred to the assassination attempt on Trump last year and praised the resistance and determination of the American guide.

He said he had a strong connection to Donald Trump.
