How to find a boat propeller

Luma Island has tons of craft supplies you can keep track of. While most items can be found by exploring, some unique items are tied to specific locations. The Cottage Blueprint, for example, can only be found in the forest biome near the beach. And if you miss it, you won’t be able to build the cottage on your farm unless you go back and get it.

The Boat Propeller is one such location-specific unique item that is needed to repair the old abandoned boat near the farm. Since repairing the boat is one of the steps to unlocking a new biome, most players want to get started as soon as possible. In this guide we will show you the exact location of the boat propeller so that you can start repairing it straight away.

How to find a boat propeller on Luma Island

Luma Island Boat Propeller Location

To find the boat propeller, players must first unlock the mountain biome in the game. The boat propeller is located at the top of this region. But you can’t just run in and grab it. There are many difficult enemies and encounters that you must overcome.

Luma Island Mountain Rest Area Two Chests

From the starting point of the zone, take the path to the right and continue forward. You have to go around the zone to get to the top. Luckily, the first part of the journey is quite easy. Keep moving forward and you will eventually arrive at a place with a resting area and two treasure chests in front of it. From this point on things get difficult.

Luma Island Path Through Stone Pillars

Walk past the waterfall and you will come to a place where there are snowmen on all sides. These enemies are similar to the plant creatures you faced in the forest. You can either run past them while dodging their projectile attacks, or use your whip to take them down. When you get to the colored crystal puzzle, take the path to the right between the two stone pillars.

Getting hit by the projectiles doesn’t harm you. They will only be frozen for a few seconds.

Luma Island first obstacle section

Cross the waterfall that appears shortly after and encounter the first obstacle section in the region. You have to traverse a snowy terrain while avoiding rolling snowballs. If you get hit, you will be taken to the beginning of the section. Memorize the snowball pattern and slowly walk past the section. You have to break a few mountain rocks to finally reach the next waterfall.

Halfway through this area, players will find the fast travel point for the mountain region.

Luma Island Mountain Snowman Enemy

In the next section there will be more snowmen throwing projectiles. But this time you’re moving through snowy terrain, which means your movement speed will be significantly slowed. However, since you don’t take damage from them, getting past them shouldn’t be a problem. Soon you will reach a mountain ledge from which snowballs are falling. Go to the nearby wooden structure and interact with it to build a scaffolding using 10x mountain wood. This will allow you to walk across without getting hit by the falling snowballs.

Luma Island Mountain Ice Crystal Enemy

The next section is your first encounter with an Ice Crystal enemy. This enemy uses a rotating ice beam that sends you to the start of the encounter the moment you are hit. Luckily, you can use the mountain rocks as cover. Plan your run and use cover to get across.

The icy terrain in this area will cause you to slide forward if you stop moving.

The following area is again an obstacle field with rolling snowballs. As before, memorize the pattern and move forward slowly to avoid getting hit. On the other side you will find another unfinished scaffolding that you can build from mountain wood. After that, you have to go through another obstacle section. Continue forward until you reach a second Ice Crystal enemy.

Luma Island Mountain Ice Crystal Enemy Second Encounter

The second encounter with the Ice Crystal enemy is much more difficult. Since there is less cover to hide behind, you will have to run out of its range to get past it. From the start, move forward and go to the far right edge to get out of range of the ice beam. When the beam moves away, quickly run to the mountain stone near the center.

From this point on, you may be tempted to head straight for the exit. However, this will hit you with the beam and send you back to the starting point. Instead, run to the right edge of the mountain so the beam can’t reach you. Run towards the exit as soon as the beam moves away.

Luma Island Mountain Edge

You’ll need to complete the construction of two more scaffoldings and overcome another obstacle section with rolling snowballs, but these shouldn’t pose much of a challenge at this point. At the end of the obstacle section, the boat propeller is waiting for you to pick it up.

A red treasure chest behind the mineable mountain stones contains the blueprint for the villa.

The snowy terrain that slows you down and the numerous obstacles in the mountain biome can make it difficult for players to reach the Boat Propeller item Luma Island. But now that you know exactly what awaits you on the way to the mountain top, it will be easier for you to plan your route.
