How to listen to the Rams vs. Saints Week 13 NFL game on the radio

It seems like the LA Rams (5-6)’s trip to the New Orleans Saints (4-7) should be the type of game the Rams should win. And if this were 2023 or a past season, that would likely be the case. But this is 2024, a season in which the team will seemingly be thrown to the canvas, counting a standing eight, only to get up from the mat long enough to survive until the end of the round.

Some view the Rams’ problems as Reason enough to blow up the squad and start over. But the LA Rams aren’t a team that hasn’t exactly aged gracefully. Quite the opposite. Since mid-2022, the team has made an effort to quickly overhaul the entire roster, from edge rushers and the backup running back position to all but a few final key positions essential to winning an NFL championship. Championship required are: A rookie franchise quarterback, offensive tackles and shutdown cornerback.

The New Orleans Saints are no strangers to similar problems. Much like the Rams (but without the injury epidemic), the Saints have long been searching for a successor to former quarterback Drew Brees with limited success. As a result, the team was stuck in a whirlwind of changing head coaches (now for the third time since Brees played for the team in 2020) and searching for a new identity. They were too good to land a top pick in the NFL Draft, but not good enough to have a successful run in the NFL Playoffs.

Such is life after veteran quarterback Drew Brees.

The Rams managed to find a veteran after QB Jared Goff in Matthew Stafford. But now Goff has done it Lead the Detroit Lions (11-1) to the best record in franchise history. Were the Rams too hasty? Not considering the team recognized the limited time remaining for All-Pro DT Aaron Donald and his helplessness and frustration after a loss in the Divisional Round in the 2021 NFL Playoffs on the road to the Green Bay Packers.

The team gathered around Donald, rapidly to win Super Bowl LVI on February 13, 2022behind the deft passing of veteran quarterback Matthew Stafford.

In Week 13 of the 2024 NFL season, the Rams and Saints are no longer competing for the chance to represent the NFC in the NFL Championship Game. It’s just two teams fighting to get a shot at contention again in the postseason. And the game to find out which team comes within inches of that goal comes right after Thanksgiving Day, one of the busiest retail days in the country.
