How to watch SMU vs. Clemson: start time, TV channel and more

The No. 8 SMU Mustangs can make history on Saturday when they travel to Charlotte for an ACC Championship game against the No. 17 Clemson Tigers.

If the Mustangs win, they will not only have an unexpected conference title win in their first season in the ACC, but also a guaranteed spot in the College Football Playoff.

Standing in the way is a Clemson team fighting to win its 9th ACC Championship and clinch its own spot in the CFP.

Despite a loss to South Carolina last week, the Tigers can advance to the 12-team field by winning the conference title game.

A loss won’t eliminate the Mustangs from playoff contention, but they definitely want to earn a guaranteed spot.

SMU is on a nine-game winning streak since Kevin Jennings took over as starting quarterback.

This will be the Mustangs’ – and Jennings’ – second conference title game in as many years.

Jennings started in the AAC championship game for the first time in his career last season in place of Preston Stone, who suffered a season-ending injury the week before.
