How to watch Texas Tech vs. West Virginia: hints, odds and more

Today the Texas Tech football team ends the regular season with a visit to West Virginia in Lubbock. The Red Raiders were eliminated from the Big 12 championship game on Friday, but this battle with the Mountaineers still carries weight.

This is a program that is still in the building phase under head coach Joey McGuire. Eight wins in the regular season would therefore be a sign of progress in the third year of the current coaching staff’s tenure.

Tech has won eight games just three times since 2012. Additionally, the program hasn’t had this many regular-season wins since 2009, the final year of Mike Leach’s tenure in charge.

Additionally, the Red Raiders want to send their seniors out with one last win at home. This group includes fan favorites Tahj Brooks, Josh Kelly, Caleb Rogers and a number of other key contributors.

Meanwhile, opponents today could struggle to keep their head coach employed. With just 6-5 on the season a year after winning nine games, WVU head coach Neal Brown is back in the hot seat. He has won six games or fewer in four of his first five full seasons in Morgantown, and with just six wins so far in his sixth year, he is fighting to keep his job as he takes his team to Lubbock.
