Hurry up! Download your Kindle eBooks before Amazon no longer allows you

You have a little more than a week to download your Kindle e-books before Amazon removes the opportunity to download them to your computer.

From February 26, 2025 (via ZDnet) you can no longer download copies of your Kindle books and use these files as a backup. After this date you can only download books via Wi-Fi or the Amazon platforms.

Most people will probably not notice that this latest example is deteriorating for an Amazon service, but the function has been around for over a decade and is useful to secure their purchases or convert them into formats that are not Jungs-E readers or devices are compatible. It is also useful for the times when you have no access to Wi-Fi, and of course there is security that you have copies of your books.

This is not the first time that Amazon has made a comprehensive change in his Kindle platform, which changes how or when customers can use the books they bought. In the past, the company has removed books from its online shop and deleted from a distance from Kindles or replaced books by edited or updated versions. The most famous incident included the ironic deletion of George Owell’s ‘nineteen four -nightly’ and ‘Animal Farm’, although the company said at the time that the books had been incorrectly published on its platform. A number of Roald Dahl books with “censored versions” were updated in recent times in 2023.

All in all, it is a memory that you do not have many or most of your digital purchases, as you are usually actually “buying” licenses for content that can be revoked at any time.

If you want to find this decision annoying and find alternatives, there are some.

If we could first recommend the libbyapp, with which you can borrow E -Books from your local library. You can also borrow audio books. Personally, I no longer bought Amazon’s E -Book since I set up the app on my cell phone. You can use several library cards, sample books and day titles in your free time. You can send the eBook to your Kindle. If you have another device, you can download an EPUB version that you can send to your Kobo or Nook.

Speaking of trying, it can be time to try another e-reader like the color Kobo Clara or the Nook Glowlight 4. Kindles is one of the best e-readers, but there are others, such as the remarkable paper professional, which one offer, an alternative.

You can also try to buy books from places such as Google Books and Apple Books, both of which offer a number of eBooks. eBooks.com offers DRM free books and EPUB formats.

For those looking for free eBooks, there is always Project Gutenberg, which is mainly available in publicly accessible areas, although there are also some newer titles.

How to download your e-books for the time being

You can currently download purchased books from your content library from Amazon. You have to register in your account. Go to accounts and lists and click on the content library in the menu. From there you can see all the Amazon content you own, including eBooks, music and some videos. Your books will be under the book icon.

If you want to download for further actions in the menu of the book and then download and transfer via USB.

So if you want to download your books, you have to get started, especially if you have many Kindle books. It will take a minute, but could be worth the anger if you ever want to read your Kindle books about something other than a Kindle.
