On Monday, court records revealed that Naresh is now charged with murder and physical defilement of a corpse.

Manassas Park police are scheduled to hold a news conference about the new charges at 7 p.m.

On July 27, Mamta was seen on a surveillance camera sitting with a friend outside the hospital where she worked as a nurse. This was the last time Mamta was seen at work. A day later she contacted her mother, who lives in Nepal, for the last time. She was their last known contact. Mamta’s friends and family have not heard from her since.

Prince William County and Manassas Park police have been actively searching for clues that could lead to Mamta’s whereabouts. Investigators conducted multiple searches at the couple’s Heather Court home. Police previously searched nearby parks and other areas in hopes of finding evidence.

Since Mamta’s disappearance, Naresh appeared in court several times – each time with more evidence linking Naresh to the crime. In court documents obtained by 7News in August, three evidence images showed what appeared to be blood stains in the couple’s home. One of the pictures showed a stained carpet in a room.

Court documents and evidence presented in the courtroom in recent months linked Naresh to the crime. Although Mamta’s body has not yet been found, prosecutors believe Naresh murdered his 28-year-old wife and hid her body, according to court documents.

Naresh is scheduled to appear in court at 10 a.m. Tuesday for a hearing on his new charges.

This is a developing story. Stay with 7News for more updates.
