Huskies from Eagles scratched in the second Mac loss – Northern Star

Niu Women’s Tennis (20-5, 6-2 Mac) fell his second matchup with the Mid-American Conference and fell 5: 2 against the Eagles of Eastern Michigan University (10-11, 3-5 Mac).

“It wasn’t a great match for us,” said Eric Burns, head coach of the Niu women. “We have started a bad start in doubles and did not do well today in doubles or singles.”

The huskies continued a number of bad starts and dropped the colon to give the Eagles an early lead.

The duo No. 1 Singles by Senior Erika Dimitriev and Junior Nataly Ninova were swept in a 6-0 set by Eagles Senior Sabina Bricackova and Prerna Vicare.

Niu Senior Reagan Welch and Junior Jenna Horne lost a 6-2 set in 2nd place against doctoral student Marta Komar and Junior Daniella Shved.

The Junior Isabella Righi and the newcomer Lucia Yecora were 5: 3 against the newcomer Viki Hazmukova and in the second year Kseniia Saenko, when the match was unfinished.

“We have to bring out more energy and more focus. Our double game was not good in the Mac game, and that was a strength of us throughout the season and then we just withdraw a little,” said Burns. “We don’t play as aggressive as we need. We are not as sure as we have to be, so we have to go back to our doubles and what we do.”

Stumble into singles

The two points of the huskies on this day came from the singles No. 5 and No. 6 after they brought in the first four singles games.

The senior citizen of Huskie, Maria Dzemeshkevich, was defeated by Shved in 6-4, 6-3 set loss.

Also 6-4, 6-3 NiU newcomers Irmak Budak, dropped her match at No. 2 against Hazmukova.

In just her second singles defeat this season, Yecora was defeated by Bricackova in 6-4, 6-2 sets.

After a 6-0 Sweep-Sweep, Ninova took a 6: 4 second sentence against Vicare to force a third set. Ninova fought in the third set and lost 6-2 for the game.

“We were great with five and six today,” said Burns. “We moved Jenna (Horne) in A Five and Isa (Righi) to five. Both won their matchups, we could just help them anywhere. Only many routine balls lost, we only missed today. It was perhaps a bit of them (Ost -Michigan) who played pretty well and did not.”

Righi prevailed at Singles No. 5 and took a 7-6 (7-5) game against Saenko.

No. 6 Singles was another victory for the Huskies, with Horne Komar defeated in 6-4, 6-2 sets.
