Chung was accompanied by Georgia Governor Brian Kemp, the CEO of Hyundai, Jose Munoz, and the CEO of Kia, Ho Sung Song.

The new work will produce up to 500,000 EVS and hybrids every year under the Hyundai, Kia and Genesis brands. First, 300,000 vehicles are produced annually. Despite the opening ceremony this week, the first model, the new 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5, rolled from the assembly line in October.

Hyundai has improved the electrical SUV with more range (up to 318 miles), a new inner and outdoor style and a NACS connection for charging in Tesla supercharger.

Hyundai said the Ioniq 9 was now officially in production. The larger SUV takes place this spring, so it should be every day now.

Like the 2025 Ioniq 5, the Ioniq 9 contains a NACS connection. A massive 110.3 kWh battery will also pack and offer an EPA estimated range of up to 335 miles.

The “lounge-like” interior has up to 1,322 liter cargo dream inside, more than Kia’s three-row EV9, which has up to 1,233 liters. With 5,060 mm (199.2 inches) long, 1,980 mm (78 inches) and 1,790 mm (70.5 inches), the Ioniq 9 is slightly larger than the EV9.

Hyundai will give the prices closer to the start, but the Ioniq 9 is expected to start at around 60,000 US dollars or a little more than the KIA EV9.

Interestingly, Hyundai said that the Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 9 will be accompanied by the first Kia vehicle that was built in the facility in 2026. Will it be the EV4, Kia’s first electric limousine?

The opening ceremony follows Hyundai’s landmark of 21 billion US dollars in the United States, which was announced at the beginning of this week. Hyundai will use 9 billion US dollars to increase the Hyundai, Kia and Genesis brand to 1.2 million. Another 6 billion US dollars are used to build a new steel mill in Louisiana.

In the meantime, GA Senator Jon Ossoff warned on Wednesday in a press conference: “The war of the Trump government against electric vehicles is a threat to EV sales, the EV market and the automotive industry in Georgia and all over the country.” By murdering the federal tax credits, the United States will only be attributed to the Global Auto and Tech industry behind China and others.
