“I had never been suspended at school …”: Kl Rahul reveals the effects of coffee with the controversy of the Karan episode on him

The Indian cricket player Kl Rahul recently thought about the consequences of his appearance at Koffee with Karan in 2019. Rahul spoke in a podcast with Nikhil Kamath and informed him how the incident deeply influenced him and had a grounded view of life and fame.

Rahul remembered his childhood and described himself as a quiet spoken person who, after the debut for the Indian Cricket team, gained intricate trust. However, this trust was shaken after the KWK controversy. During the Australia Tour 2018-19, he and teammates Hardik Pandya were suspended due to their comments on the show from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The duo was forced to leave the tour halfway and return to India – an experience that Rahul left a permanent brand.

“I used to be good with trolling. I thought I didn’t care. I was much younger at the time,” Rahul admitted. “But a few years ago I was exposed to a lot of trolling. When I was sitting, I was trolled. When I stood, I was trolled.”

He continued to explain how the interview changed him. “This interview was massively scarring me. I was a very quiet person. Then I played for India and grew my self -confidence. I always felt comfortable in a room full of 100 people. But now I don’t feel the same because of this experience.”

Rahul also emphasized how difficult it was for him to process the suspension. “I had never been suspended at school, never punished.

Kl Rahul and Pandya will now be shown in the historic game against Australia in the semi -finals of the Champions Trophy on Tuesday. However, it will not be an easy task, since the Aussies are a resilient beast at global tournaments, even without its main actors of Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood and Mitchell Starc.
