I test AI for my living and these are 7 things that I would never say chatt - here is why

Chatbots – from customer service employees to AI assistants such as Chatgpt and Gemini – have become part of our daily life. Although they offer all comfort, not all chatbots are trained in the same way, which is why many users do not recognize how much sensitive information they could accidentally reveal.

Some risks are obvious as if they never share their credit card number or bank information, but others are more subtle.

In a current function via Gemini Canvas, I mentioned how the chat bot contributed to improving the first chapter in my book. Some readers were concerned about sharing my letter with a chat bot to be used to form the AI.

Fortunately, this is not the case, at least not with the big players. Openai and Google clearly state that they do not use user inputs to train their chatbots. However, it is worth mentioning: Even if your data is not used for training, it can still be remembered in her account. This means that everyone who has access to their account – or in rare cases someone who chops on it could theoretically call up their input. Very unlikely, but not impossible and that’s why I could think twice the next time.

And then there are greater risks. Not all chatbots follow the same data practices. While Chatgpt and Gemini keep training for user inputs away, it can still occur on a human review in order to record abuse or harmful content. Her unfinished novel will probably not pull up eyebrows up, but threats or dangerous language.

Other bots such as Deepseek train directly with user data. This means that everything you type to use to improve future models – and this is a good reason to be careful.

Regardless of which chatbot you chat with, here are seven things you should never Share – yes, even with those who do not train your input.

1. Personal identifiable information (PII)

Never share your full name, your address, your social security number (or your equivalent), your passport or driver’s license. If the chatbot’s data is violated, hackers could steal their identity.

If you use a chat bot for something, e.g. B. for updating your resume or your job search, never add this information if you request the chatbot. In the end, add it when you polish your resume.

2. Financial information

It seems obvious that sharing credit cards, bank account details and cryptocurrency private keys is a bad idea. Users can uncover this information if you summarize a document from your credit card company or a bank.

Perhaps you would like to rely on a chat bot to get help. However, it is important to know that you can answer your questions without sharing this information. Instead, use similar scenarios without revealing personal information.

3. Passwords

If you have to chat with one on a company website, you should never release your email passwords or two-factor authentication codes (2FA). Legitimate services will never ask about the chat.

Since well -known bots like Chatgpt are reminiscent of information that helps you, this data may be used by someone who tries to use your account. For example, password tips such as your mother’s girl’s name or the pet should never enter the chat in childhood.

4. Highly sensitive or embarrassing secrets

If you want to share your participation in illegal activities or want to admit deeply personal approvals, do not share them with your favorite chat.

Private health problems are also something that you should never share because some chatbots record conversations for training or think about better adapting the conversation to your needs.

5. Corporate information

Product prototypes, confidential meeting notes or travel plans of the CEO are all kinds of information that some users may forget and should never be used in Chatbot talks.

Although it seems a great idea to use a chat bot for secret prototypes, these types of entries are never a good idea.

6. Explicit or harmful content

Graphic violence, threats and hate speeches should not be part of their chat bot experience.

Also as a joke (“How do I hide a body?”), Some AI systems are missing and report such content to the authorities.

7. Medical information

Although it is not a substitute for a medical specialist, some chatt users find that the chat bot identifies various symptoms. If you are the type of users who do this, you would like to consult your input requests to avoid personal information.

Do not enter medication or enter medical diagrams. Instead, try a command prompt like “What types of exercises do muscles build for an anemic woman between the ages of 25 and 30?” Be generally in the command prompt.

Last thoughts

AI chatbots are incredible tools – but no magazines, therapists or safe vaults. While companies such as Google and Openai have guardrails, it is still advisable to choose what they share in terms of what they share.

Understanding how different bots scratch according to data and action inputs is the first step to protect your privacy. If in doubt, keep sensitive, personal or creative information offline – or at least out of the chat window.

Remember: if you don’t want it to be repeated, checked or reappeared later, it probably does not belong in a chat bot request.
