Apple MacBook Air M3

On any given day, I could switch between a 16-inch M1 MacBook Pro, an old Intel-based 27-inch iMac, and the redesigned 2024 Mac Mini that I recently tested. But my Mac of choice is the M3 MacBook Air. That’s why I was thrilled to see that Amazon is offering the best Black Friday deal on a MacBook Air this year that I can remember – in fact, it’s the biggest discount I’ve ever had for a new MacBook Air.

Amazon will sell the 2024 M3 MacBook Air for $844a 23% discount off the retail price of $1,099. Apple never offers its laptops for sale. Best case scenario, you get a 10% education discount and get this model for $999. If you’re lucky, you may be able to snag an older model at a 10-20% discount from a third-party seller like Amazon or Best Buy.

So this price is almost unprecedented for a current MacBook Air model. With that in mind, I would recommend you grab this deal if you’ve been seriously considering it M3 MacBook Air.

There is also a hidden factor that makes the offer even better than it looks on paper. The price of $1,099 is slightly deceptive. When Apple launched the first M4 Macs in October, it also quietly upgraded the base models of both M3 MacBook Air and the M2 MacBook Air from 8 GB of RAM to 16 GB – without increasing the price. So that means that the configuration of the M3 MacBook Air that you can buy now for $844 would actually have cost $1,299 a few months ago.

All in all, this M3 MacBook Air is a great device. In fact, I’m currently writing this article from it. It weighs 2.7 pounds and is less than half an inch thick—and the dimensions are only slightly larger than an 8.5-by-11-inch sheet of paper. So you hardly notice it when you put it in a bag or backpack.

And despite its slimness, it also packs a lot of power. Since the introduction of Apple’s M1 silicon chips, these MacBook Air models feel faster and just as powerful as the old Intel-based MacBook Pros. In fact, many people previously needed a MacBook Pro for things like basic photo editing and other forms of multimedia and work tasks that can now easily get by with a MacBook Air. This has been especially true since the launch of the M2 MacBook Air in 2022 and is even more true for the M3 version. Because of these devices, the number of people needing a MacBook Pro has dropped significantly in recent years.

The only downside to it Configuration for $844 is that it only has 256GB of storage and upgrading to 512GB would cost $200. However, I have the 512GB version and am using that M3 MacBook Air for over six months and I still have 366GB of unused space. If you’re worried about having extra storage space, you can always pick up a fast external drive like this 2TB drive from Seagate, which is on sale for $65 (19% off) for Black Friday.

Amazon has that too M2 MacBook Air on sale for $729which is a great deal for someone with slightly more limited computing needs. Either way, there’s never been a better Black Friday to buy a MacBook Air.
