Idaho Crash Goes Viral After Car Lands on Roof (Photos)

It was talked about across the country today – a single car accident gone wrong in Nampa, Idaho. The vehicle became airborne and landed on the roof of a local home, leaving one dead.

It didn’t take long for the news to break locally or, frankly, nationally because the images are so frightening.

Here’s a closer look at the crash that occurred on Sunday, December 1st in Nampa:

Shortly after the crash, Nampa police released a statement online:

At 9:12 a.m., Nampa Dispatch received numerous 911 calls reporting that a vehicle had left the roadway and landed on the roof of a Nampa home in the 1000 block of E. Amity. Upon arrival, first responders found a car occupied by three adults on the roof of a home. The investigation is ongoing, but it appears the vehicle was traveling west on Amity at a high rate of speed, failed to negotiate a curve on Diamond Street, hit a hill in a private yard, became airborne and struck the chimney of a car crashed home and landed on the roof of a second home. No other vehicles were involved in the accident, but damage to power lines resulted in a power outage that has since been restored.

Police further said that the driver and back seat passenger were injured while the front seat passenger was pronounced dead at the scene.
