I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! 2024 features the ITV show’s highest-paid star to date.

The reality TV juggernaut has been a fixture on screens since 2002 and over the years the amount of money paid out to participating contestants has increased exponentially.

In the last four years alone, that gap has widened: Noel Edmonds, once the highest-paid star, was paid £600,000 for a week in the jungle in 2019.

The 2024 line-up includes celebrities such as singers Danny Jones (McFly) and Tulisa (N-Dubz). Loose women Panelist Jane Moore and Love IslandThis is Maura Higgins.

But it is Coleen Rooney – the socialite who is married to footballer Wayne Rooney – who pocketed the top fee. She will reportedly take home more than £1.5 million for her performance.

The amount is believed to exceed the record-breaking sum paid last year to Reform MP Nigel Farage for one of the show’s most controversial appointments. He was paid a fixed fee of £1.5 million.

Other highly paid stars include Caitlyn Jenner, who earned £500,000 for her appearance in 2019, while winner Harry Redknapp took home the same amount last year.

Although no further fees have been disclosed, it can be concluded that the size of Rooney’s reported salary could mean that other stars are also receiving salaries. However, looking at previous years, the better known names, including Jones, Tulisa and professional boxer Barry McGuigan, could earn between £150,000 and £200,000 for their respective appearances.

Typically soap windows are like this Coronation Street2011’s Alan Halsall typically earns a salary of around £75,000, while lesser-known housemates, who are expected to become more famous through their appearances on the show, typically earn around £50,000. This year they include Radio 1 DJ Dean McCullough and internet personality GK Barry.

According to reports Good morning Britain Presenter Richard Madeley took home £200,000 for his 2022 appearance, which was less than two of last year’s contestants: Mo Farah (£300,000) and Vernon Kay (£250,000).
