I’m a travel expert – how to make hotel room dinner

Ah, the glamor of travel.

An accomplished globetrotter known for her insights into glamorous travel destinations delighted her fans by revealing that one of her favorite dishes in any country is one that she prepares in her hotel room.

Samantha Brown, host of Samantha Brown’s “Places to Love” on PBS, made her humble admission on social media with a short video that showed her using a clam container filled with lettuce in relatively average-looking moves to making a quick but healthy dinner – one she confessed was “about as fancy as I can be these days”.

“I’ve been making my hotel room salad in three- and four-star hotels in the United States for years – that’s where they have the big refrigerators,” Brown told her Instagram followers.

“I go to the nearest supermarket, collect all the ingredients, hopefully organic, and then just eat a really healthy meal.”

She was inspired, she said, “by my love of supermarkets, which I visit as if they were a local attraction… and by the desire to just stay in my room and watch cheap TV.”

The jet-setter’s favorite ingredients are chopped romaine lettuce, lettuce and mushrooms – with “the most unprocessed dressing I can find in the refrigerated section,” she said, declaring sesame ginger her “favorite.”

Brown previously admitted in an interview with Travel + Leisure that she loves to just “hide” in the many places she travels.

“A lot of times, especially when you’re out and about during the day, you don’t want to go from menu to menu or restaurant to restaurant,” she said, noting that she always looks for local amenities like delis, coffee shops and places to go Can buy groceries.

While some fans were quick to question her salad style, many others were fine with the idea of just being at home, wherever you are.

“I always visit grocery stores like you – like they’re another attraction on my list of places to visit,” said one traveler.

“I recently visited a store in Croatia and just laughed at the display of Oreos. You’re obsessed with them!”

“The last time I was in NYC I was blown away by how expensive the restaurants were, so we picked up the ingredients at Whole Foods and ate in our room! It was the best,” shared one budget-conscious Big Apple visitor.

It turns out that do-it-yourself in-room dining is common among frequent travelers – a creative street fighter shows how he makes his own pizzas in hotel bathrooms.

And one travel expert even warned against using the hotel iron, which is often used by flight crews to heat up food during their layovers.

But that’s apparently nothing compared to the dangers of the free coffee station – one flight attendant claimed she knew colleagues who used the ubiquitous pots to sterilize their unmentionables on the go.
