There is a large audience for both western films and thrillers individually, but when the two genres come together and the direction of Quentin Tarantino is added to the mixture, you know that you will be on what you can only describe as an interesting experience.

Tarantino’s films that do not slide under the radar are some of the largest, and that sounds today, since the hated eight are available for Amazon Prime Video.

The film published 10 years ago played a few years after the American civil war in the middle of a winter in Wyoming and was inspired by western television programs of the 1960s. It focuses on a bounty hunter and his prisoners, who find protection in a cabin that is inhabited by a collection of malignant characters.

In the remote cabin, known as Minnies, the characters, all of whom are suspicious of one or the other, begin to interact and increase the tensions.

The film takes place with topics of betrayal, revenge and the dark side of human nature and history, which ignite an intensive dialogue and violent confrontations through flashbacks.

The characters include a bounty hunter, a former confederated soldier, a criminal and more – all with complex background stories and motivations. The narrative contains several turns and twists, as Tarantino’s trademarks of sharp dialogue and non -linear storytelling style comes into play. The film is known for its tense atmosphere, its dark humor and its graphic violence.

The film stars Samuel L. Jackson, Kurt Russell, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Walton Goggins, Tim Roth, Michael Madsen, Bruce Dern and Channing Tatum.

The film won numerous awards for its original score in 2016, including the Oscar Prize for the Best Music (original score) and the Golden Globe Award for the best original score, the BAFTA Award for the best original score and the Critics’ Choice Movie Award for the best score.
