Injury report: Last Oilers’ McDavid, Canucks’ Pettersson, Blues’ Holloway

With the Stanley Cup playoffs around the corner, it is this time of year, in which injuries to the most important players are really in focus.

Fortunately for Oilers fans, Elliotte Friedman von Sportsnet had some good news about the status of McDavid on Saturday.

“The word is the goal from the middle to the end of next week,” said Freidman about McDavid’s return Hockey night in Canada‘S Saturdays Segment.

With the loss of the Oilers against the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday, they are now four points behind LA for second place in the division, and Friedman wondered if this could change their plans.

“The Oilers have lost today, they are four points behind the kings, changes the way they look at his return?” Said Friedman. “You know he wants to come back, but he looks good.”

McDavid has been out since March 20 when a collision with Josh Morrissey got him out of a game against the Winnipeg jets.

“Pettersson has not given up hope for this year,” said Friedman. “A source said they thought it was’ unlikely”, but the key is that Pettersson has not given up hope of this year. I think it’s fair to say that this is unsure. “

Pettersson suffered an injury to the upper body two weeks ago in a game against the New York Rangers.

Even with the 6-2 victory of the Canucks against the Anaheim Ducks on Saturday you will need a lot of help to do the playoffs. Vancouver is six points of Minnesota Wild for the last wildcard square of the West with six remaining games.

In contrast to the Canucks, the place of St. Louis Blues looks good in the off -season because the team is the middle of a winning series of 12 games.

On Thursday, however, they got some bad news when Dylan Holloway, the team’s third -part scorer, got the game against the Pittsburgh Penguins with an injury with a lower body of injuries.

According to Friedman, things don’t look good for the 23-year-old striker.

“(Blues head coach) Jim Montgomery said today that they didn’t have as good news as they hoped that he had called it from week to week,” said Friedman. “I think there is more clarity that we could come here in the next 24 to 48 hours, but it seems as if the blues are preparing that they won’t have it at the beginning of the playoffs.”

The blues performed two points in the wilderness on Saturday to get first place in the Western Conference.
