Inside Andy Cohen’s headline-grabbing empire at SiriusXM: “Sometimes I screw up”

At the risk of sounding like a Real Housewives Slogan, when Andy Cohen talks, people listen. That’s true when he’s hosting See what’s happening live and the Bravo reunions, and that’s especially true on his SiriusXM show where he has time to deal with everything Evil to Bravolebrity brouhahas.

“There are things I say that viewers don’t agree with,” says Cohen, 56 Us from his Andy Cohen Live sStudio in NYC. “There was a moment at the beginning Vanderpump Rules where I said (on the radio): “Lala (Kent) is the voice of reason this season.’ People played that clip for months and were all over me.”

During the daily broadcast on Radio Andy (channel 102, 10 a.m.), Cohen and co-host John Hill – including his ex-boyfriend, more on that later – “generate a lot of pop culture news,” he says. “And we reflect on that too. Anything that could be said could either make a headline or (laughs) come back to bite me.”

And they’ve all built their own followings and their own little universes on the channel.

Ah, back to Jeff Lewis – another personality under the Radio Andy umbrella on SiriusXM. His comments on Jeff Lewis Live have become storylines on several Bravo series this year, including The Real Housewives of Orange County And The Real Housewives of New York City, Cohen acknowledges that this plays a role in why the shows are now breaking the fourth wall.

“It’s wild that the tentacles of Housewives have reached out to him and he’s reached into the show,” Cohen says of the “outspoken” and “provocative” host. So open that Lewis hears it from his boss? Unless Cohen wants to be part of this plot too. “It’s going to cost me a lot to get involved because I’m burned,” he says. “He read my messages on air!”
