iOS 18.2 RC is now available with these 10 new features

As the iOS 18.2 beta cycle nears its end, Apple has just released the RC version of the upcoming operating system update for the iPhone. In addition to general stability improvements, Apple continues to develop new Apple Intelligence features.

These are the key features available with iOS 18.2 RC:

  • Picture playground: Users can create playful images in seconds and choose between animation, illustration or sketch. This app is directly integrated into apps like Messages and is also available in a dedicated app; Are you having problems with the waiting list? Check this out;
  • Genmoji: Create custom emojis by combining two characters. Users can enter a prompt like “monkey in pink hat” to create an entirely new emoji. Here’s how to use it.
  • Image stick: “Raw sketches can be transformed into attractive images, and users can even select blank areas to create an image by leveraging context from the environment” in the Notes app;
  • ChatGPT integration: If you feel that Apple Intelligence is not enough, you can allow ChatGPT access to writing tools and other features to enable better response. If you’re tired of Apple Intelligence having to confirm every prompt, do this.
  • Create Images extension: Another Apple Intelligence feature available with iOS 18.2 beta is the ability to create an image when you highlight text in the Notes app.

In addition to these Apple Intelligence features included in iOS 18.2, Apple continues to add more features throughout the beta cycle.

  • Completely new mail app: Mail gives users new ways to manage their inboxes. On-device categorization organizes and sorts incoming emails into Primary for personal and time-sensitive emails, Transactions for confirmations and receipts, Updates for news and social notifications, and Promotions for marketing emails and vouchers. Mail also features a new Digest view that summarizes all of a company’s relevant emails so users can quickly search for what’s important right now.
  • Change default apps: The iOS 18.2 beta will allow iPhone users to change the default Messages and Phone apps.
  • Volume limitation: The Settings app now has a new volume limit control. This allows you to limit how loud your iPhone speakers can play media.
  • Find my changes: Apple offers the option to share the item’s location with an “airline or trusted person.” This feature creates a link that allows someone to easily access your AirTag’s location.
  • Photo app optimization: Videos in the Photos app no longer zoom in or out when you tap on them.
