Iron Bowl injury update: Auburn at Alabama, injury report released Friday

Rivalry Weekend is finally here and that means one thing in the state of Alabama: It’s Iron Bowl time.

The SEC’s most famous feud returns Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET (ABC) at Bryant-Denny Stadium, and once again it will be about much more than just in-state bragging rights.

Both teams are dealing with significant injuries. For AlabamaSenior linebacker Deontae Lawson has been out recently undergoes season-ending surgery after an injury last week against Oklahoma. For Auburntight end Rivaldo fair weather appeared on the Injury report Wednesday as a “playing time decision”. He is no longer on Friday’s injury report.

No. 13 Alabama (8-3, 4-3 SEC) currently finds itself on the outside of the 12-team College Football Playoff field and desperately needs another win to get in after last weekend’s embarrassing 24-3 loss at Oklahoma remain the conversation.

In the meantime, Auburn (5-6, 2-5 SEC) needs a win to secure bowl eligibility in consecutive seasons under head coach Hugh Freeze. There’s also the revenge factor, according to the five-star rookie receiver.
