All right, now let’s talk about the forecast. ONE OF THE FEW TIMES A YEAR WHEN THE FAMILY’S HEALTH DEPENDS ON WHAT HAPPENS. DID YOU BRING YOUR GLOVES? ARE YOUR BOOTS MUDDY? DO YOU HAVE THE BOOTS WITH FUR? THE WHOLE KIT AND CABOODLE. I’m ready. Apple bottom jeans, all right. GREENSBORO, DO YOU SEE SOME CLOUDS OUT THERE NOW? WE HAVE RAIN THIS MORNING. We had sunshine then, and now we see the clouds. YOU WILL COME BACK TOMORROW. TOMORROW DRY TRIP THROUGH THE CAROLINAS. A FEW showers on Thanksgiving, maybe a few isolated thunders. AND THEN A LOT OF COLDER AIR INTO THE WEEKEND. YESTERDAY WE WERE AFTER 70. TOMORROW AND Thanksgiving it will be almost 60, which is almost normal. AND THEN MUCH COLDER WITH HIGHS IN THE 40S THROUGH THE WEEKEND. Right now we’re already falling into the 40s as the skies clear. WE ARE 48 IN REIDSVILLE, 45 IN MARTINSVILLE AND NOW 52 IN GREENSBORO. COOL AIR COMES IN BEHIND US. THIS FRONT USED TO BRING US THE CLOUDS AND THE RAIN, AND NOW YOU CAN SEE THE RAIN IS MOVING OFFSHORE. So if you travel tonight, you’ll have dry skies from Boone to Wilmington. THERE WAS NOT MUCH MEASURABLE RAIN TODAY, BUT WE HAVE A FEW DROPLES OUTSIDE AND A FEW HUNDREDTHS OF AN INCH TOMORROW WILL BE A DRY DAY. It will be really cool. It was mild this morning, but tomorrow morning we’ll be back to 30 degrees. Our high tomorrow afternoon will be 58°C with cloudy skies. YOUR WEDNESDAY IN THE FOOT HILLS UP TO 56 MORNING AFTERNOON WITH LIGHT WIND. AND THEN THERE WILL BE UP TO 50 OF US IN THE MOUNTAINS TOMORROW. So a cool day. I’m still watching this storm system now. We’re moving inland into the Rocky Mountains, with some snow over Colorado that will move through the middle of the country. Not only will it bring rain, but also the risk of thunderstorms deep in the south. ALABAMA, MISSISSIPPI WILL WATCH THIS AREA EXPANDING INTO GEORGIA, SOUTH CAROLINA, POTENTIALLY IMPACTING THE EASTERN PART OF THE TRIAD AS WE HAVE A MARGINAL RISK OF AT LEAST SINGLE THUNDERSTORMS DEPENDING ON THE TRACK OF THIS STORM SYSTEM. IT’S MORNING HERE. IT’S 61 IN WILMINGTON. If you go that direction, 46 in Asheville. LOTS OF CLOUDS. The rain doesn’t start until Thursday. It’s not really widespread, but I think there will be at least a few showers in the morning and midday. ESPECIALLY ON THANKSGIVING DAY, THEN MAY DRY OUT. AT NOON WE CAN SEE OUR HIGH IN THE 60S AND THEN THE COOLER AIR BEGINS TO MOVE IN. AND FRIDAY IS A MUCH COLDER DAY, SO OUR HIGH ON Thanksgiving WILL BE CLOSE TO 60 DEGREES. Most rain comes early. It’s a cool morning, rain in the mountains, isolated thunder, a possibility in the Triad. MUCH COLDER FOR SHOPPING ON FRIDAY WITH HIGHS IN THE 40S AND CLOSE TO 50. HERE IS YOUR TRIP MAP. YOU CAN SEE THE WET WEATHER ACROSS KENTUCKY AND TENNESSEE TOMORROW. The further north you go, the more wintry it becomes, and you can see snow turning over New York and New England on Thanksgiving Day. Much colder air continues to move through the middle of the country on Saturday with another small burst of snow and perhaps EVEN A FEW SNOW SHOWERS IN OUR MOUNTAINS The second half of the weekend, so in December, will feel colder than we normally get in experience our winter months. ABOUT 10 TO 15 DEGREES COOLER THAN THAT. We have 40 for a high on Monday. SOME TEENS AND 20S FOR SEVERAL MORNINGS. It looks like this. All right, LANEY, THANKS. CHECK TRAFFIC? HERE’S A LIVE VIEW. This is Highway 52 at Rams Drive and you can see a crash in the southbound lanes near MLK Junior Drive. DOT expects this to remain closed for the next few hours
