It’s no cakewalk, but this motorbike belonged to Paul Hollywood from the Great British Bake Off

If you know the name “Paul Hollywood,” there’s a good chance you (or someone you love) is into it The Great British Baking Show. You don’t even have to be British or live in the UK. In a world of tough reality competitions (and real-life news cycles), the show has made a name for itself for both its baking style and its friendliness/comradeship, essential qualities that set it far above the competition.

Hollywood (yes, that’s his real name), a master baker and celebrity British chef, has been a judge on the show from the start. He is also a long-time motorcycle enthusiast and rider. You may remember that not long ago two of his rare Ducati Superleggeras were auctioned off. Now it’s time for something different, and chances are that buying new bread will also cost a good amount.

This time it’s the 2004 Big Dog Ridgeback’s custom chopper, which Hollywood featured in another limited series called ” Paul goes to Hollywood. The show aired in four-hour blocks and chronicled Hollywood’s road trip from New York to Los Angeles. There’s food, very special guests including Brian Cox and Lisa Kudrow, and Hollywood (the person) taking an interest in movies along the way.

That’s it; that’s the show.

Along the way, Hollywood drove this custom Ridgeback chopper powered by an 1,800cc S&S V-twin. While the chef drove it around the US, after the show was filmed it was apparently shipped to the UK where it was then registered. It hasn’t been ridden much since it landed in the UK, but it has been ridden a little.

According to auction house Iconic Auctioneers, it has sat unused in a collection for the past few years. So if you want to bid and plan to actually drive it, you’ll need to get it overhauled first (or have the work done by a trusted repair shop). However, it has current UK registration, so that part is already taken care of for you.

It is scheduled to be auctioned on Sunday, February 16, 2025, during the Iconic Motorcycle Sale at the 2025 MCN London Motorcycle Show. The auction will take place live at the event and the expected price is £12,000 (approximately $15,335). ) to £14,000 (approximately $17,891). These estimates do not include the 15 percent buyer’s premium or VAT.

It almost seems redundant to say that no-one will turn up with something like this at your next bike meet, but it seems like this is particularly true in the UK. But do you want that? And if you owned this bike, would you want to ride it or would you rather show it off? Let us know in the comments.

I generally believe that you should ride a bike. At the same time, I’m not going to tell you what I think you should do with it if it’s not my bike. But my opinion is just one of many, so be sure to share yours with us!
