Jaguar’s bold rebranding gives new identity

The famous Jaguar has a new jump. The British brandThe rebranding journey caused a stir when the “Copy Nothing” philosophy was introduced two weeks before Miami. This ethos promised a luxury design brand that exclusively manufactured electric cars. The Jaguar Type 00 embodies this change, rich in “exuberant modernism” – a key feature of the brand’s new identity. Inspired by the mastery of light seen in the works of James Turrell and other artists, the concept car translates space, color and perception into an artistic, sensory experience that happens to take place on four wheels.

JAGUAR DOES NOT COPY ANYTHING WITH CONCEPT CAR DESIGN

The Jaguar Type 00 concept is based on a new, dedicated JEA architecture, designed from the ground up to ensure state-of-the-art electrical performance. This platform aims to offer responsive handling, luxurious comfort and a range of 478 miles per charge. While the Type 00 remains a concept, its production version – a four-door GT – will launch in late 2025, advancing the brand’s vision of luxury electric mobility.

Like the upright front, the taillight also marks its modern identity with horizontal graphics across the entire width of the rear

The exterior of the Jaguar Type 00 is reminiscent of the E-Type and redefines the standards of EV design with its extended hood, curved fastback roofline and striking boat-tail proportions. Nicknamed “Miami Pink,” the satin Rhodon Rose finish accentuates its smooth yet dramatic surfaces, while a flush upright front end with new Jaguar script and a full-width taillight with horizontal graphics underline its modern identity. Another highlight is brass bars engraved with the iconic Jaguar jumper, which open flush to reveal the rear-facing cameras.

Inside, the Type 00’s design continues the boldness of its exterior. Dramatic butterfly doors and a “pantograph” tailgate frame this carefully crafted interior. The cabin is defined by three linear brass elements, including a central 3.2m long spine that supports floating instrument panels and seats. A mix of travertine stone and Kvadrat textiles creates a warm, tactile atmosphere.

The concept car’s experiential focus is expanded and embodied by its three unique totems made of brass, travertine and alabaster. These totems are stored in a powered compartment accessible from the outside and can be inserted into the center console to customize the interior’s ambient lighting, sound and graphics. The inherent properties of each material influence the mood of the interior, allowing occupants to change the role of the car to customize their sensory journey.
