Jalen Milroe is making the case for Alabama to get into the College Football Playoff

Alabama is anything but guaranteed College Football Playoffs with three defeats on her resume, but Jalen Milroe represents the Crimson Tide’s case.

The quarterback and his teammates recovered from their defeat Oklahoma over with a home win Auburn in the Iron Bowl in Week 14. With their last chance to prove themselves in the rear view, Milroe explained why Alabama deserves a ticket to the dance when speaking to the media after the win.

“I think we are a team that will enjoy this win. It’s not our job to decide what our future looks like,” Milroe said via The next round to So we need to continue to improve and also take care of our controllable elements. Not uncontrollable.

“I mean, it’s so important that we can move forward for our football team and just be where we are. Enjoy the victory we just got here at home against a tough opponent and just worry about our controllable abilities.”

As you can see, Milroe and the Crimson Tide don’t particularly care about what they can’t control, instead remaining focused on the field. Things definitely worked in their favor last weekend as Alabama was able to knock off Auburn in a 14-point loss.

Elsewhere, the Crimson Tide received help from the rest of the college football world, particularly the ACC. Both Miami And Clemson lost, and that could potentially open the door for Alabama or other three-loss SEC teams Ole Miss Rebels or South Carolina Gamecocks to get into the playoffs.

While Alabama won’t have another chance to prove itself to the selection committee, Jalen Milroe and his teammates believe the Crimson Tide have done enough. Now all they have to do is sit back and hope that conference championship weekend goes in their favor and there is enough chaos to get them into the College Football Playoff.
